Ernald Lane

Ernald Lane was an Anglican priest in the late 19th Century and the early part of the 20th.

He was born on 3 March 1836 and educated at Balliol College, Oxford[1]. A fine rower[2] he was ordained in 1862 and was a curate at Baldersby and then a prebendary of Lichfield Cathedral until 1888 when he became Archdeacon of Stoke-on-Trent.[3] A noted scholar,[4] he was the Dean of Rochester from 1904 until 1913.[5].
